Rascal Flatts are among the new Forbes list of the Most Powerful Celebrities. The trio comes in at #42. The top celebrity on the list is Angelina Jolie. Rascal Flatts are one of the few country artists on the list. Kenny Chesney comes in at #31, Toby Keith #59, Taylor Swift #69, and Carrie Underwood at #75.

Country’s largest crossover act grossed $56 million on tour in 2008. Opening acts: Jessica Simpson and Taylor Swift. Released sixth album this spring; sold 351,000 copies in the first week to earn a No. 1 Billboard chart debut. Group also signed a lucrative endorsement deal with JCPenney.

Rascal Flatts had a number one party today to celebrate their 11th number one song. Also there were the writers of “Here Comes Goodbye” Chris Sligh and Clint Lagerberg.

“We couldn’t be any more proud of it and what it turned out to be,” the band says.

Joe Don Rooney spoke to musiccitytv.com about co-writer of “Here Comes Goodbye” and former American Idol contestant Chris Sligh.

“Chris is an awesome artist in his own way, and you know, he’s a great songwriter obviously and I think this is big, you know, big No. 1 and you know I think he’s going to have many more after this.”

The guys said the first time they heard the song “It was a Rascal Flatts homerun.”

In other news.. Rascal Flatts will take this year off from their fundraiser concert they do every year for Vandberbilt Children’s Hospital. The group has played at Sommet Center for four years straight and have donated the proceeds from all those concerts to the hosptial. In total raising over 3 million in 4 years.

Jay Demarcus said this year, they will not be playing. The hosptial is very near to their hearts though and they will return next year.

“In a lot of the difficult economic times everybody seems to be going through right now, we felt like it was perfect time for us to take a year off and then hit it hard again next year with our Vanderbilt fundraiser.”

The Flatts kick off their Unstoppable tour in St Louis on Friday.

Rascal Flatts have a featured article in First Magazine. In this Gary, Jay, and Joe Don talk about the women in their lives. The guys spend alot of time away from home with their busy schedule touring and promoting new albums, etc. The talented trio had some sweet things to say about their special ladies and how they have changed them and the simple things that make them smile.

Gary and his wife have been married 10 years and he talked about keeping the love alive with his wife Tara. “We have date nights once a week. Tara lights a candle to set the mood, but she doesn’t even know she’s just that special.” says Gary. “She puts on all the makeup and stuff, and it’s like, “Baby, you ought to see what I see when it’s off-you’re even more beautiful without it as you are with it.”

Jay on his wife Allison of 5 years.“When she knows I’m at the end of my rope and I’m really stressed out, my wife has a way of doing little things,” says Jay. “Even if it’s just a little text message to tell me how proud she is of me and how she appreciates my hard work. “She’s just extraordinary and loyal and has one of the biggest hearts I’ve ever seen. “When you’re lost in your work, it means so much to know that somebody is thinking about your or praying for you or has your back.”

Joe Don talked about his wife Tiffany of 3 years. The couple had their first child last May, Jagger Donovan. “I saw a whole other side of Tiffany that I never saw before.” says Joe Don talking about his wife’s pregnancy. “To see her focusing on being a great mother, not even having given birth yet, it just made me fall in love with her again.”

Rascal Flatts have been everywhere this week! The band performed on Ellen, Dancing With The Stars, and will perform on The David Lettermen Show tomorrow, and Fox News Channel’s Hannity show.

First, I have alot of statistics to report. Rascal Flatts, new album ‘UNSTOPPABLE’ made it’s debut at #1 on the Nielsen Soundscan Top 200 and on Country charts this week. This debut is Rascal Flatts’ fourth consecutive album opening at the top of the Top 200 chart, more than any other country artist in the history of Soundscan! The trio sold 58,000 in digital copies of the album ‘Unstoppable’.

In other exciting news, their current single “Here Comes Goodbye” jumped to #1 on the country singles charts! This marks Rascal Flatts 11th number one single. The song has sold a total of 555,000 on iTunes to date.

Rascal Flatts will be on the hit show ‘Dancing With the Stars’ on April 14. The trio will perform their hit single, “Here Comes Goodbye.” Also look for them on The Ellen Show (April 12) and the David Lettermen show (April 16). The guys will also be playing at the Grand Ole Opry on the 18th.
